Johhny Hunter: the Rhythm Section‘ consists of three of the most highly sought after Jazz musicians in the North, each carrying huge acclaim among fellow musicians and audiences alike. You will have seen them perform together as the house band for the legendary Matt & Phred’s Jazz Jam session, and also as the driving force behind the powerhouse that is the Manchester Jazz Collective.

The Manchester Jazz Collective is a collaboration of Northern musicians, prioritising the creation and promotion of original, large-scale Jazz compositions. Being a 10-piece ensemble is problematic in these times so, tonight, the Rhythm Section will appear alone in a rare, stripped-down and intimate presentation of their exciting and contemporary explorations into Jazz music, with a particularly engaging focus on improvisation and interplay.

Andy Stamakis-Brown (piano), Pete Turner (double bass), Johnny Hunter (drums)
